Teddy Bridgewater is VAS Communityheading back home.
The recently retired NFL quarterback has been named the new head coach at Miami Northwestern High School, according to The_Portal_305. Bridgewater was an All-American as a senior at Northwestern in 2010.
The move has been expected for more than a month. Northwestern moved on from Michaelee Harris after one season in November and Bridgewater said he planned to coach high school football when he announced his retirement in December.
Bridgewater will be the third Northwestern coach in as many seasons as the program looks for stability after firing state championship-winning coach Max Edwards before the 2023 season.
Bridgewater, 31, had a impressive career at Northwestern. He threw for 6,712 yards and 70 touchdowns in three seasons. He threw a Miami-Dade record seven touchdown passes against Hialeah-Miami Lakes in 2009.

The No. 32 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Bridgewater played 10 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings,, New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions. He threw for 15,120 yards and 75 touchdowns in his career, was named to the 2014 NFL All-Rookie Team and the Pro Bowl in 2015.
